DID YOU KNOW ?

"There's A Palace In The Canyon" a rare piece!

"There's A Palace In The Canyon" is a poem by Jim Morrison, set to music by the DOORS. It has only been performed on stage twice...

The group indeed made it debut live during the second concert of the evening in Dallas, on December 11, 1970, before playing it again the next day in New Orleans, during the last performance of DOORS with Jim Morrison.

The track has never resurfaced since. It does not appear either on the album "LA Woman", released in April 1971...

Listening to this amateur recording, we say to ourselves that this title could have been a magnificent piece, so strong is the emotion in Morrison's voice, supported by Ray's keyboard notes, John's martial playing and the very overpowered by Robby, exploding in a final solo!
