Formed in 1961 in Los Angeles, Rick & the Ravens were the group of Rick Manczarek, the brother of Ray, the famous keyboardist of the Doors. Ray Manzarek also plays the piano there and sings within this formation, he is also called in the manner of the Blues singers of the time "Screamin' Ray Daniels."

The group was joined in 1965 by Jim Morrison, before breaking up and changing their name to become The Doors.

In 2011, Rick Manczarek reformed Rick & The Ravens but the project remained unfinished...
