DID YOU KNOW ?

Jim Morrison, a difficult childhood
Young James Douglas Morrison was born on December 8, 1943 in Melbourne, Florida, United States. He is the eldest of a sibling of 3 children including his brother Andrew (Andy), born in 1948 and his sister Anne, born in 1947. All three are descendants of George Stephen Morrison, Officer and later Admiral of the US Navy and Clara Clarke.
Already very early, the Morrison family is constantly moving in order to follow the assignments of Admiral George Morrison. So much so that when Jim was 16, the family had already lived in 18 addresses in 19 different states... Jim will also quote about his father "... A man whom we constantly followed but who was not never there."
Very quickly the young Jim becomes turbulent and in protest does not take long to let his hair grow against his father's will. He also adopts a strange behavior especially towards his younger brother Andy whom he does not hesitate to frighten and humiliate.
...Later, at odds with his parents, Jim does not give any more news to his family, and it is again his brother, Andy who will discover that he is making a career in music when he sees him on the cover of the first Doors album. Jim will even lie during a statement to Label Elektra Records claiming that his parents died in a car accident.
Then suddenly, on stage at the Seattle Pop Festival in 1969. Jim cracked up...telling the audience "These days, I've been reading a lot. About parent-child relationships Yeah! And I wanted to tell you, no one didn't give enough love when I was a kid!"
