MYTHICAL PLACES

Olivia's Place 2618 ( 2615 ? ) , Main Street - Santa Monica - CA - USA
Did you know that the song "Soul Kitchen" present on the 1st DOORS album draws its inspiration from a small restaurant managed by a certain Olivia and located on Main Street in Santa Monica (neighboring city of Los Angeles)?
THE PLACE :
While he had just obtained his degree in Cinema at UCLA and was not yet the singer of DOORS, the young Jim Morrison lived mainly housed with friends on the roofs of the district of Venice in LA
During this period, Jim spent most of his free time discovering the effects of LSD and long walks on the beach, sometimes even to the neighboring town of Santa Monica...
It was there that Morrison often had lunch in a small restaurant facing the beach, on the corner of Main Street and Ocean Street. The little Diner was managed by a woman of character named Olivia, Jim sat on a table at the window to watch the cars go by while writing many poems.
The place was known to students for its $1.25 steak.
Sometimes Olivia would sing along with local musicians when they sat down at one of the tables in the dining room. Another time, she did not hesitate to slap the young men with more insistent looks on her person...
NOWADAYS :
Today, on the corner of Main Street is 2615, a clothing and surfboard store from the Billabong chain of stores.
