Jim Morrison Film Festival - Vancouver, Canada, March 27, 1970

On March 27, 1970, the "Jim Morrison Film Festival" was organized at the "Queen Elizabeth Theater" in Vancouver.

The event organized by "Poppin Magazine" provides for the broadcast of "HWY: An American Pastoral", a film of about 50 minutes in which Morrison slips into the shoes of a serial killer hitchhiker. The documentaries "Feast of Friends" and "The Doors Are Open" are also on the program, as well as the music video for "Break on Through" and a promotional video for "The Unknown Soldier" directed by Mark Abramson and Edward Dephoure.

Jim sees this evening as the first opportunity for his work as a filmmaker to be rewarded. However, following a hearing in Phoenix, Arizona for which he must appear following poor behavior on board a plane a few months earlier, Jim is forced to cancel his participation in the event...
